I once gave a friend a wooden sign with the quote "With the right pair of shoes I could change the world" ~Cinderella
I woke up this morning with a new saying... "It's a Cinderella thing" ~Sherri
As I pondered this quote, I began to think of Cinderella's life. She began her life as a child with all she needed, no need for more money and she was happy. She was thrown into a life out of her control and people began to take advantage of her. She became a servant, used, mistreated and covered in soot. Her life was changed in a moment by LOVE.
She was cleaned, given beautiful new clothes and her heart was changed to believe that she was worthy of more! She found love and her happy ending. WOW!
I am reminded of the process that God has brought me through these past few months. I have realized that I am worthy, I matter and no longer will I let others use me and be held captive by my past. God is giving me new garments: garments of praise for the spirit of heaviness. The weight is being lifted and I am no longer chained by guilt, over responsibility (duty), abandonment etc... at 52 years of age, I have realized that I am beautiful, I am more than the way I have been treated, I am created for so much more than what I (or others) have labeled myself to be. Wow! This is truly freeing. Living out loud and in freedom is awesome; only given by an awesome God!
I pray that you too will find and know who you truly are and that through love your life can change as well! Of course, cute shoes never hurt in your journey.
